La Costa

The La Costa Bed & Breakfast stands on the northern side of the slopes of Montecassino, a pretty dwelling immersed in green Mediterranean brushland: prickly pears, elms, olive trees and agaves. Located only 900 metres from the centre of Cassino, it has two comfortable and tastefully decorated attic bedrooms, with heating.THE BATHROOM, SHARED BY THE TWO BEDROOMS, has a shower and hairdryer.“Arte povera” (plain art) furniture in solid wood treated with beeswax. Doors and frames in chestnut wood. Sheets and towels of natural cotton, washed with ecological detergents; “Linea Mediterranea” bathroom-shower kit made by Fratelli CARLI.The communal area includes a breakfast room with a cosy sitting room where guests can read books about the history of Cassino (in English, German, French and Italian), and there is a small garden. Continental breakfast with food carefully prepared in accordance with regional laws; biological food on request."La Costa" of Cassino was the scene of the bloodiest battle of the Second World War; thousands of soldiers lost their lives here in the bitter winter of 1943-44.The place is therefore a true “cradle” of the history of Cassino and its people. There are historic photographs in the house and, after a thorough search at the Istituto Luce (an Italian film and photographic institute) and in the files of the US armed forces, we obtained extraordinary and extremely rare documentation about the battle of Cassino - in colour and in black and white - from the Istituto Luce’s Historical Files. Never published shots of La Costa, Via Caira, Montemaggio, San Silvestro and other parts of Cassino, during World War II. Simple and spontaneous testimonies by soldiers who had a personal cine-camera in their rucksack. They give an original and very modern interpretation of a dramatic page in the history of Cassino, still acutely topical today. La Voce Del Vento

The B&B The Voice of The Wind is in Pastena, a town situated in the district of Frosinone that bordes with Falvaterra, between Rome and Naples. It’s the 1975 when the Bisceglia family resolved to turn the old ruin, owned by the marquis “Casali La Rocca” since 1878, into La Voce Del Vento. The beauty achieved nowadays is the result of this family’s love for nature, traditions and countrylife. The structure consists of 5 double rooms, a triple and a quadruple room, provided of private bathroom with either shower or bathtub, and have all been especially furnished with the unique farm style: they all blend in romantically with the landscape but they are all equipped with the mandatory modern comforts, like satellite TV, radio, fridge, safekeeping, hairdryer and some small balconies. The Casaletto is our residence, perfect for 2/4 people, has a kitchen with both a fireplace and modern kitchenware like microwave, gas stove, blender, toaster, pots and pans. Our swimming pool is set in the rocks at the end of a forest. We also have the tavern. In the rock-embedded you can taste a good glass of wine and thanks to the oven we can make specialties like pizzas etc. ...
