The house, a beautiful completely restored farmhouse built of stone, stands on a gentle 400-meter hill (1,213 feet) among olive groves and peach orchards, exposed to the sun and with a view of the Bilancino Lake and the Apennines.
Accommodation is offered in two rooms in the manor house and in a 70 mq (229 sq. ft.) apartment facing it that was once a barn. The apartment is composed of a large living room, a kitchenette, a double bed room, a room with two small beds and a bathroom.
The two rooms on the first floor are very large and each has its own private bathroom.
The rooms have been furnished with antique furniture and are warm and welcoming.
The price for the double room is 60 – 65 Euros and includes breakfast.
The apartment, also decorated with antique furniture, is equipped with all the modern comforts (dishwasher, washing machine, oven, and satellite TV). The price for the apartment (for 4 persons) is 350 - 420 Euros per week.
The house is situated less than three kilometers (1.8 miles) from the superhighway (Autostrada del Sole) exit at Barberino; 20 km (12.4 miles) from Florence (Firenze), 80 km (48.7 miles) from Bologna, 110 km. (68.3 miles) from Pisa, and 80 km. (48.7 miles) from Chianti. The sea and the Apuane Alps are within 120 km. (74.5 miles). The lake is within 4 km. (2.4 miles) and it offers the possibility of various activities such as canoeing, windsurfing, and sailing. The area is also a point of departure for beautiful marked trekking routes. In addition there is a splendid golf course at only 10 km. (6 miles) away.
How to arrive
Exit the autostrada BO- FI (superhighway Bologna – Firenze) at the Barberino toll gate. Then turn into the first street on your right. Go pass the bridge on the superhighway and then continue on the paved street for two kilometers (1.2 miles). At this point you will find an intersection. Keep to your right, where you see a sign that says “Via di Bovecchio” and where the dirt road begins. After 500 meters (546 yds.) you will see another sign that indicates that Via Bovecchia continues on the right. After another 500 meters (546 yds.) at the end of the street you will find the “Casa Nuova degli Oleandri”.
