Our holiday house La Fucinaia is situated in the Cornia Valley, in the archaeological mining park ‘San Silvestro’, 138m above sea level, just a stone’s throw from the island Elba and the ‘Costa degli Etruschi’, with its vast beaches. It is a quiet place in the lovely hills of Tuscany, surrounded by evergreen bushes and very old silver shining olive trees. Here you find the typical ecosystems, which are characteristic for the Tyrrhenian Coast and Mediterranean vegetation.
Around the year 1900, an English engineer was leading the mining company in Campiglia M.ma. Close to the mining site, he built a home for himself and his family, which is now La Fucinaia. Later on, the house was used as a canteen for the miners and later on it was known as a gourmet restaurant.
In 2007 the holiday house LA FUCINAIA has been opened. A place that does not correspond to the typically Tuscan style. It is more a colonial villa with a Tuscan touch. It is exactly that which gives this building a special charm.
