La Guest House is a recently restored traditional Val Chiusella house with an independent entrance for guests and the typical arched veranda. There is a large garden and a patio and  a splendid view of the mountains. It is on the edge of the small village of Trausella and many walks can be started straight from the house. There are three double rooms, (a children’s bed is available), and two independent bathrooms. The plentiful breakfast buffet offers a choice of homemade,  local and mainly organic products. There is a shared sitting-room/library with wide selection of books in various languages, a CD player and board games. We also have mountain bikes and a ping pong table. We have ample tourist information and can advise you about excursions and walks. We can offer basic Hatha Yoga and guitar lessons. Suitable for small groups and seminars.

I dintorni offrono molti tipi di escursioni.

Un esempio è l' “Anello dei Laghi” con le terre ballerine che nascono su antiche torbiere, delizioso percorso che si snoda tra i cinque laghi situati nell’Anfiteatro Morenico d’Ivrea, incorniciato da castelli e montagne.

A circa un’ora di macchina ci sono il Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso, la Valle d&39;Aosta con il Monte Bianco e il Cervino ed infiniti altri percorsi spettacolari.

Agli appassionati di storia e di architettura ricordiamo i numerosi castelli del Canavese e della Valle d&39;Aosta.

Di particolare interesse turistico ed archeologico è la città romana e barocca di Torino. Numerosi sono i musei da visitare a cominciare dal Museo Egizio, famoso in tutto il mondo. Vi sono vari esempi di architettura come la Mole Antonelliana che ospita il museo del cinema, palazzi di stili diversi e chiese tra cui da segnalare il Duomo dove è ospitata la “”Sacra Sindone”. Nelle belle giornate c&39;è la possibilità di gite sul fiume Po, e per gli amanti dello shopping non mancano negozi di ogni tipo. Senza dimenticare i locali dove è possibile assaggiare la caratteristica cucina piemontese. Torino è raggiungibile in un’ ora di macchina.

A mezz’ora di macchina si trova invece la graziosa città di Ivrea con il suo Carnevale Storico famoso in tutto il mondo per la battaglia delle arance. Manifestazioni culturali per tutti i gusti come il Festival del Jazz “Eurojazz” nel mese di marzo, “I Mestieri della Memoria” (manifestazione storico/artigianale) nel mese di Settembre ed altro ancora.

La città di Castellamonte, celebre per le sue ceramiche e stufe in ceramica originalissime con la mostra di ceramica a fine estate dista venti minuti in macchina.

Many different types of excursions can be made throughout the surrounding area.

One example is the “Anello dei Laghi” (Circle of the Five Lakes) with it’s “dancing ground” on the ancient peat moors (great fun for children), consisting in a delightful trek around the lakes in the Anfiteatro Morenico d’Ivrea ( Ivrea Moraine Amphitheatre) surrounded by an endless vista of mountains and castles.

The Gran Paradiso National Park, the Aosta Valley with Mont Blanc and the Cervino (Matterhorn) and an infinity of spectacular routes and excursions are only an hour’s drive away.

The numerous castles of the Canavese area around Ivrea and Aosta Valley are a great attraction for anyone interested in history and architecture.

Only an hour’s drive from Trausella is the Roman and Baroque city of Turin with its variety of architectural styles, the world famous Egyptian Museum, other important museums, exhibitions, Roman excavations, the Cathedral in which the Turin Shroud is preserved and the extraordinary Mole Antonelliana tower (with its Cinema Museum), all worth a visit. In the summer months it is possible to take a boat trips along the River Po and there is a huge choice of shops of every kind . Naturally there is also a wide range of restaurants serving Piedmontese specialities.

The pretty old town of Ivrea is only half an hour’s drive from Trausella. It is famous for its pre-Lenten carnival with the Battle of the Oranges. Other cultural events for all tastes include the “Eurojazz” Festival in March and the “I Mestieri della Memoria” (a hand-on historical arts and crafts festival) in September and more….

Castellamonte is only 20 minutes away and is famous for its very original ceramic stoves and for the ceramics exhibition in late August.
