Pratovalle country house is in  the heart of Valdichiana Valley, in a charming   scenery close to historical places like the Etruscan town of Cortona, the  Montecchio Castle, the old Medieval towns of Castiglion Fiorentino, Lucignano and Foiano della Chiana, The Pratovalle country house is an old barn restored to four comfortable apartments with air conditioning, dishwasher, oven and satellite tv.
Moreover, in the large communal hall you can relax and have the best of local food. Around the house there is  a park with olive trees, cypresses and other long-stemmed plants where it is possible to relax and eat.
At the centre of the park, under the sun and overviewing  a beautiful scenery there is a big swimming pool.

Situata in collina, a 600 metri di altezza, Cortona è una delle città etrusche più antica. La Basilica di Santa Margherita e il Santuario Francescano delle Celle invitano il turista a scoprire Cortona dall'alto, offrendo un itinerario di arte e di fede a pochi passi dal centro storico. Da vedere, oltre al centro storico, il nuovo museo dell'Accademia Etrusca (che ha inaugurato le nuove collezioni nel Settembre 2005) e il Museo Diocesano, un piccolo forziere che custodisce opere di grandi artisti locali quali Luca Signorelli e una delle più belle Annunciazioni del Beato Angelico

CORTONA (8 Km)
Placed on a hill  at an altitude of 600 metres, Cortona is one  of the oldest Etruscan towns. Not far from the town centre The Basilica di Santa Margherita and the Santuario Francescano delle Celle offer a very interesting itinerary of art and faith. The town centre is very interesting, too, with the very peculiar Piazza del Comune. There are two museums of great interest: the Museo dell’Accademia Etrusca and the Museo Diocesano where you can see the paintings of the most famous local painter, Luca Signorelli and one of the most beautiful Annunciazioni del Beato Angelico.

 LAGO TRASIMENO (20 Km)
Con un’estensione di 128 km² è il quarto lago italiano.  La zona era abitata sin dall'epoca preistorica e nel 217 a.C. sulle rive del lago ebbe luogo la celebre battaglia del Trasimeno, che vide le forze cartaginesi di Annibale sconfiggere le legioni romane del console Gaio Flaminio. Ricca è la fauna ittica di questo bacino lacustre, fra le specie principali: lucci, carpe, tinche, cavedani, anguille, persici e carassi. Nel lago sono inoltre presenti tre isole ovvero, in ordine di grandezza, la Polvese, la Maggiore e la Minore.

TRASIMENO LAKE (20 Km)
With an extension of 128 square kilometres it is the fourth Italian lake. The area was populated since prehistoric times and in 217 BC it was the site of the famous Battle of Trasimeno where the Carthaginian Hannibal defeated the Romam Consul Gaio Flaminio’s troops. The lake is very rich in fish resources. The main species that you can find there are the following: pikes, carps, chubs, eels, perches and crucians. On the lake there are three islands: Isola Polvese (the biggest), Isola Maggiore and Isola Minore.

AREZZO (30 Km)
Le sue origini sono etrusche e forse fu una sede delle 12 lucumonie etrusche. Arezzo conserva ancora una storia preziosissima, a cominciare dai personaggi qui nati e divenuti famosi nel mondo: Caio Cilnio Mecenate, Petrarca, il Vasari, Francesco Redi, Guido d'Arezzo e l'Aretino. Oltre ai monumenti importanti e alle chiese, il centro storico di Arezzo merita una visita attenta, durante la quale potrete scoprire bei palazzi, aspetti architettonici caratteristici ed una suggestiva atmosfera.

AREZZO (30 Km)
Its origins are Etruscan and, maybe, it was the site of the 12 Etruscan lucumony. The history of this very special town is precious: it’s the native town of very important artists of Italian colture like Mecenate, Petrarca, Vasari, Redi, Guido d’Arezzo and L’Aretino.

SIENA (45 Km)
Siena è una delle più affascinanti città della Toscana, ricca di Monumenti, Musei, arte e architettura che ancora oggi raccontano i suo gloriosi trascorsi storici. La manifestazione più importante è il Palio, la cui organizzazione richiede un anno intero. Il Palio si corre il 2 luglio e il 16 agosto, importanti giornate in cui tutta la città suddivisa in contrade e i suoi abitanti si contendono in Piazza del Campo l'ambito Trofeo.

SIENA (45 Km)
Siena is one of the most charming towns in Tuscany. It is rich in monuments, museums, art and architecture which show its glorious historical inheritance. The most important event in Siena is Il Palio di Siena. It’s a dangerous horse race around the main square, Piazza del Campo. Each district of Siena is represented by a horse. The winner gets the longed-for prize, il Trofeo. Il Palio is on the 2nd July and the 16th August.

FIRENZE (80 Km)
Firenze è sicuramente tra le più belle città d'Italia, famosa in tutto il mondo per la grande concentrazione di opere artistiche che nei secoli hanno conferito alla città un aspetto unico al mondo. Famosa all'estero come e più di Roma, offre mille bellezze da vedere e conoscere. Può essere visitata anche con una gita di un giorno, anche se è consigliabile, per la visita al Museo degli Uffizi, prevedere un viaggio a parte.
