The Farmouse Accomodation is a 60 sqm “Fienile” barnhouse, which has been completely restored. Situated in the heart of the Chianti region and located in a dominant position on the Pieve di S. Stefano at Campoli (Ninth Century), it offers our guests a wonderful panoramic view. The farmhouse is comprised of four large, bright rooms: kitchen, double bedroom, living room with double bed sofa, and bathroom. This is an independent and detached property, allowing the possibility to enjoy the spacious grounds around the house. Located about 20 km from Florence and 40 km from Sienna, the farmhouse is ideally positioned to visit the most beautiful, cultural and gastronomic sites in the Tuscany region: San Giminiano, Volterra, Greve, Panzano and Montefioralle. It is possible to reach these places, not only by car, but also on foot or by bicycle, crossing through woods, olive groves, vineyards, characteristic places rich in history, culture and truly beautiful.
The territory around San Casciano was inhabited as far back as the Etruscan period, as has been proven by the archaeological excavations at Montefiridolfi (Tomb of Arciere) and Valigondoli (the site at Poggio La Croce). In the Roman era it was known and used as a resting or halting place, ten miles from Florence.
The Chianti region is dotted with fortified mediaeval castles, abbeys, churches and convents from the 11th. Century: Church of Saint Stefano of Campoli, Church of Saint Pancrazio, Church of Saint Cecilia, Church of San Leonino and the museum of the sacred arts (San Casciano V.P. Imprunetta). From the historical side to the gastronomic there are numerous places where it is possible to taste the best wines of the Chianti (and others) as well as the most traditional dishes of the Tuscan kitchen.
For the outdoor types; there are numerous tracks and trails for hiking and or mountain biking, which lead to some of the most beautiful villages in the Chianti. Just a few kilometres away in San Casciano Val di Pesa, there is a large swimming pool facility with panoramic views and is open all day. Horse riding is available in Mercatale Val di Pesa, where expert help is at hand to plan and arrange pleasant treks through the Chianti region. At Tavarnelle Val di Pesa you can also realise your dreams by taking a Hot Air Balloon ride for a bird’s eye view of the beautiful hills and countryside of Tuscany.
