Agriturismo Poggio Macinaio i situated in a peaceful position of the countryside between Grosseto and Siena in the Maremma Tuscany. A small family run farm, whose main activity lies in the cultivation of the land with olive groves, fruit and vegetables. There are 2 holiday apartments at the guest's disposal, one for 4 up to 6 people, the other for 2-4 people, as well as a room with bathroom. Both apartments have in front of the entrance an outside space for tables and chairs. The completely restored stone farmhouse lies on a hill, surrounded by olive groves, wood and centuries old oak trees that, during the summer months ideal to find cool shade casale. Nearby, characteristic hilltop villages like the near Roccastrada, Montemassi, Roccatederighi, Porrona or Sassofortino. Only a few kilometres away also the natural reserve with the river Farma; a still uncontaminated area, of a luxuriant flora and fauna. The canions along the river Farma is the ideal place for bathing in the crystal clear water, between natural waterfalls and swimming pools. From the river, there is also free access to the natural pools, digged by the water in the rock, filled with sulphureous water of 43°C temperature of the Petriolo hot springs. From the farm it is also possible to reach within short time the medieval Massa Marittima, the Etruscan Excavations of Roselle or Vetulonia as well as the seaside resorts Castiglione della Pescaia and Follonica. Agriturismo Poggio Macinaio is the ideal starting point to discover the nature, the history as well as the culture of this area, between the Tyrrhenian coast, the Monte Amiata and Siena.
