The Villa Godi-Marinoni is an imposing 15th century structure built by Count Godi on the ruins of a feudal castle of another Count — The Bishop of Vicenza. What remains are the cellars and stone walls which enclose the compound (buildings, terraces, lemon orchard and an Italian garden). "Il Castello" (the castle) is situated above the medieval town of Barbarano in the Berici Hills. The Marinoni family have lived in the villa since the last century. In 1986 the azienda agrituristica was opened. The environment is peaceful, beautiful and unique. There are 5 rooms or 4 suites (up to 5 persons per suite), a fully equipped kitchen and bath per suite. You stay at a place like this for a week (usually Saturday to Saturday), however, if you have other dates and needs the owners will try to accommodate you. The stay is wonderful. The bedrooms are decorated with antiques. On the south side of the property are the vineyards that produce 5 DOC wines and 4 table wines. In addition, olive oil is produced here. This is a great place to base out of — the area is filled with cities and towns well worth exploring. These are the places you find in your imagination…by the way, the hosts are in the villa next door and will help you with anything you might need.
