Nature and tradition, comfort and relax, environment and history are the most important ingredients for a special holiday at "La Terrazza del Subasio". Our family-run Bed&Breakfast is situated in the green natural park of Assisi, in Costa di Trex, a small village surrounded by gentle Umbrian hills, just 3 miles from Assisi and 1900 feet above sea level. It is composed of rooms and apartments with every comfort, obtained from the restoration of an old country stone house dating back to the 18th century and refurbished according to the local traditional style. Big rooms, kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms are appointed with taste and have traditional but simple furniture: all this makes "La Terrazza del Subasio" a real, typical farmhouse of the ancient Umbrian tradition. All the rooms are named after evocative parts of the Monte Subasio: "Gli Stazi", "La Maddalena", "La Spella". In our big garden you will find flowers, plants, a typical country scent and you will enjoy a great view on the surrounding hills and the Appennine Mountains. There is a lovely well-equipped terrace with view (that is why our bed&breakfast is named "La Terrazza del Subasio", where our guests can relax and enjoy one of the best spots of Umbria, "The Green heart of Italy".During your stay at "La Terrazza del Subasio" you can go on escorted tours on foot through the woods and pinewoods, you can enjoy trekking or riding a mountain bike along the numerous paths recommended by the Italian Alpine Club (C.A.I.) and discover all the beauties and some interesting historic places of the Monte Subasio. Marisa’s cuisine is one of the highlights of our bed & breakfast. Our guests can taste her specialities, in particular sweet and salty cakes…. with her food, every day breakfast becomes a special event! ...

Our home, "Alla Madonna del Piatto", is a small agriturismo, a bed and breakfast inn in the Umbrian hills. The centuries-old farmhouse overlooks the beautiful town of Assisi. All rooms have magnificent views.   Our agriturismo is a quiet oasis both day and night, an ideal spot to unwind.   The bed and breakfast is conveniently located to explore Umbria's beautiful medieval hill towns, like Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto and Perugia. We have renovated the six rooms of "Alla Madonna del Piatto" with great attention to details. Every room is tastefully decorated with wrought-iron beds, antique cabinets and handmade fabrics.       All guestrooms have reading lights, beautifully tiled en-suite bathrooms and radiant heating beneath the terracotta floors. The position of the house high up in the hills (600 mt/1800 ft above sea level) guarantees cool nights even in the height of the summer. The vine-covered patio and terrace are perfect spots for al fresco picnics on summer evenings.       You will enjoy breakfast in the large dining room decorated with colorful ceramics. There is a sitting area with open fireplace and a comprehensive collection of pictures and guidebooks to help you plan your vacation. Even though we have no self catering facilities, a small refrigerator is available to store drinks and sandwiches.       For those who don't mind trading a few hours of sightseeing for the opportunity to spend a day in an Italian kitchen, we offer cooking classes in English.  ...

"Casa Nuova" Agriturismo has been realised in an ancient restored farmhouse: it is steeped in the evocative valley surrounding Assisi, only 5 minutes from its historical centre. Its location allows to reach easily the art cities of Umbria, Tuscany and the Marches. "Casa Nuova" is surrounded by a 20 acre land property where typical Umbrian products are cultivated and it offers the opportunity to spend a relaxing holiday in the still unspoilt landscape of Monte Subasio Natural Park, 500 metres above sea level. A very nice feature of "Casa Nuova" Agriturismo is the presence of domestic animals like rabbits, ducks, gooses and chickens. Considering its good location, along SS 444 which goes from Assisi to Gualdo Tadino, and considering also the many natural paths and itineraries, we have a mountain-bike rental service. The Village, completely restructured in the full respect of the ancient traditions, is surrounded by 18 hectares of land and woods (high stalk),  it is well equipped for pleasant walkings, horse-back riding or to use one of ours mountain bikes to  discover and “loose yourself” in one of the many intriguing paths allowing different levels of engagement.  Situated at approximately 800 meters in altitude above the sea level, we are completely immersed the natural Park of the “Mount Subasio”, with a unforgettable views all around, where you can easily recognise the famous “Rocca” (the ancient fortress of Assisi) and many others panoramic and green  hills and appennine mountains. The life in the Village simple and characterized from rhythms in  complete harmony with the atmosphere. A careful selection of the ingredients, chosen between the products of our  farm, allows the realization of special dishes following ancient recipes from the traditional Umbrian-Tuscan culture.   The respect of the tradition becomes rediscover of scents and “ancient” taste also with the use of  meats only coming from our  breedings of cows (Chianina) and porks (the famous black pig), eating directly on our fields in complete liberty. Ours selection of cold meats like salami ham etc…, are handcrafted here on the spot and they are stored in our  wine cellars  for the longer  time they need to became a “special product”. A careful cure and a particular dedication are both taken either in the phase of production, as in the delicate phase of transformation, allows us to offer an  advanced quality on every single product we produce: from pastes to oils, cheeses to the salami to the home-made beer, prestigious product from the  “Relais Monastery of San Biagio”, always in our property just few minutes away. Starting from the original structure, after a careful restoration work in the respect of the ancient  traditions of the place, we  have realized nice and  pleasant country houses few meters away one from the other, all of them characterized by large rooms and relaxing atmospheres. The complete structure has 12 double rooms with bath, all of them furnished with lovely antique furnitures of the beginning  of the years 1900, offering various combinations and solutions of services and spaces  for the various requirements of the customer.
