Located in the county of Viterbo, less than 3 miles from the village of Bolsena, this farm holiday place called “Antica Cassia” derives its name from the old roman “Cassia Vetus” path and in fact it is situated at km. 108,150 on the state road Cassia in the “Arlena” resort area, on the shores of the Bolsena Lake.The farmhouse is an 1850 traditional building, recently redecorated and refurbished within the tradition of Italian style, and is formed by 5 apartments, all independent and with separate access.Close to it, you will find a lovely area which has been designed for kids’ playing and adults’ relax. The farm is extended on various fields across the hills of Bolsena and Gradoli, where the human rhymes are linked to the seasonal growing of corn, barley and wheat, together with olive trees. Our guests will be able to buy own organic products during their stay and enjoy their healthier lifestyle.The farmhouse itself is in a very privileged location, as it stands in an area which laps the very lake, and where, close to the vegetable growing, you can enjoy a variety of rows of olive trees, creating a very charming naturalistic environment.Only a few yards from the farmhouse you can reach the lake beach, where the clear water inspires to take baths and enjoy seaside life.  The beach opposite – partially in the shade - is equipped with deck-chairs and comfortable chaise longues, the ideal place to enjoy the view of this wide volcanic lake, adorned with two gracious islands and populated by a variety of fish. On the shore of Lake Bolsena you can spend your holiday in a pleasant and relaxing environment that offers an incredible variety of sight-seeing with cultural, gastronomic and wine-tasting excursions in the regions of Lazio, Umbria and Toscana. Our Farm consists of kiwi and olive orchards. One of these, which covers about 10 hectares (over 22 acres), is centered around an old stone farmhouse dating back to 1850 and its attached rural buildings. The complex has been restructured into eight one, two and three-room apartments able to accommodate from 2 to 7 people with a large grassy area in front for relaxing and playing. Each apartment have a well-equipped mini-kitchen and dining area, an elegantly appointed bathroom with a shower and hairdryer, and a porch covered with open chestnut beams and terra cotta tiles that offers another table and chairs for outdoor dining. The carefully chosen furnishings, the warmly colored and welcoming fabrics, the antique furniture and elegant wrought iron finishings together make the Farmhouse Arlena agritourism complex one of superior level that remains respectful of its country style. The surrounding fields, which extend to the edge of the lake, are covered mostly by kiwi orchards. A 150-meter-long path cuts through the orchard and leads you directly to the quiet of the lake. There you will be welcomed by a stretch of lawn and beach equipped for bathing, where your privacy is assured by the impenetrability of the adjacent reeds. The sandy shore gradually declines into the lake, lending to a shallow area that is well-suited for swimming, even for small children. A splendid “ontano” (alder), a typical lake tree, sinks its roots directly into the shore and acts as a frame for this suggestive corner of the lake. Canoe outings along the reeds will allow you to bird watch the many species found on the lake, while sun worshipers can enjoy laying in the sun on the beach, or directly on the water on one of our “Malibu” floating beds. Upon request, we can organize informal meals directly on the beach. Homemade jams (kiwi, plum, fig, raspberry, kumquat) and breakfast sweets will cheer your stay. We also sell local fruit, oil and wine. Restaurant service and Pizzeria available inside the dining room of the ancient hamlet , reserved only for the agriturist guests. ...
